We consist of one experienced Spanish Translator, myself Ramon, and Magali who is an experienced native Spanish Tutor. We either work individually or as a team on a freelance/contract bases, providing a thorough translation service for individuals and businesses no matter how big or small from Bristol and all over the UK.
I myself have recently finished a long contract translating a whole website and intranet for a large blue chip British client from English to Spanish and aided with the implementation the company to Spain as they expand into Europe. This required a broad knowledge of technical, technological and business translation at the top level. We’re currently involved in similar remote online translation role aiding one of the major British betting companies as they move into Europe amongst doing other work for individuals and companies big or small.
Let me say a little about us both. I am a British national that was born in Britain and have lived here most my life. I lived in Buenos Aires for 5 years where I lived, worked and studied Spanish translation to a high business level. I worked as an English tutor and finished my studies completely in Spanish where I received professional qualifications for Spanish Literature as well as A levels for all the major subjects. Although I am British, I speak English and Spanish as my first languages therefore I’m completely fluent in Spanish to mother tongue level.
I'm a freelance Translator and Graphic Designer therefore I understand amongst other translation jobs, the role regarding providing copy for brochures, manuals and websites, liaising with designers and printers in both English and Spanish. I possess extensive IT proficiency on PCs and Macs, a fast 60w/m type speed, wide vocabulary and excellent grammar and punctuation in both languages.
Since I fully understand British and Spanish cultures fully and equally, I can provide an advantage over other purely native Spanish speakers that have been in the country for a limited time because I understand the sensitivities of not falling into common literal translation pit falls.
I have also excelled in understanding business, technical and technological terms/abbreviations and slang from English and providing their exact translation in Spanish and vice versa. I’ve seen other native Spanish Translators with every qualification under the sun really struggle with these.
I'm also experienced on all the industry standard software and platforms such as Excel, Access, Sage, Outlook, Word etc as well as print and design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Quark which further aides my ability in providing copy to the brochure/manual/magazine designers whilst complying to strict graphic/web templates. This can really save time and resources for certain jobs.
Magali is a an experienced effective native Spanish Teacher who studied at the University of Buenos Aires and has been teaching in for various years. She has a wide literary knowledge from all over the world apart from all the usual skills you’d associate with an experienced native Spanish teacher such as first class grammar, vocabulary etc. She can also specialize in Biological and Medicinal relating translations.
We both feed of each other’s backgrounds, knowledge and cultures and can use each as an 'extra head' to consult on certain areas if necessary and can share a higher volume work load for a quicker turnaround if required. Therefore you could be hiring the capabilities of two fluent Spanish-speaking professionals for the price of one!
You may have read something yourself at some point where you can see that it is such an obvious translation from another language that it just doesn’t read well. In order to provide a completely rounded and thorough translation service it is essential to have a native from each country of the languages involved to guarantee smooth transactions between the two languages each way. It is requisite for translation to have ‘flow’ and unfortunately this is something that’s largely overlooked when people hire a translator.
We posses a PC, Powermac, the latest MacBook Pro laptop and all the industry standard software. We are highly flexible with who we work for so we can either work completely remotely for clients all over the UK after receiving the files in almost any format and Email the translated documents back or if based locally (Bristol, Swindon and possibly London) we can either take work home from your office after an initial face-to-face meeting or work completely full time in an office as required.
